Whirlwind Weekend of Fun!!

We had this past weekend off at our house job so we decided to hit the road. Saturday morning Kristin picked me up and we headed south. We got to stop by and see their lot in Brigham, they have a foundation & pipes!! It is all rather exciting, except that she'll be moving to Brigham even if it is only 30 minutes away I'll miss her :( When Kristin and I were roommates we regularly drove south to visit her dad or our friends down there, we have many great memories from these adventures, it was fun to relive it for a second... sorry no pictures from our drive had to focus on the road.
Kristin dropped me off in Salt Lake and I met up with one of my dear friends from High School, Kelli Buttars. It was great because I haven't seen Kelli since my wedding, she moved to California shortly after that but is now back in Utah. Kelli and I went and picked up Natalie Hess and we set off to find someplace to have lunch...we got slightly lost but had fun along the way. We had a fabulous lunch at Paradise Bakery, soup and such! Mark met us there and FINALLY got his Chipotle burrito, there was a restaurant across from the bakery so he was very excited. After a fabulous lunch we decided to do a little shopping, we started at World Market I love that store! Sadly Kelli had to leave after this :( she went off to cook a birthday dinner and Mark, Natalie and I set off for the Gateway. I am not usually a huge fan of that mall but all 3 of us found awesome deals and lots of cute clothes~
Saturday night Brittany and Justin (cousins) came up from Provo to play, we stayed at the La Quinta Inn, we ate pizza in our hotel room and goofed off (we are't the most mature adults) We tried to go for a relaxing soak in the hotel hot tub but it didn't really work due to; big scary men, over crowded but mostly the cholorine was so strong we felt like we were being poisoned.
Sunday morning we had the wonderful opportunity to attend Music and the Spoken Word the theme was Blessing through Trials (or something close to that). I just love this gospel!! Not only was the spirit so strong from the musical presentation but President Monson was there to make a special presentation making one of his life long friends who is a huge supporter of the choir and honorary member.... its amazing how ones spirit swells when seeing the prophet of the Lord. Justin and Brittany and to hurry back to there church meeting Provo to fulfill their callings so we hugged goodbye and they left. I tried to find Paul & Linda Bingham, a couple from my home ward serving a mission there, but they were in a meeting so I didn't get to see them this time. I am determined next time to see them. They helped raise me, I was so sad when I didn't get to see them. I have always wanted to see the top of the conference center so Mark and Natalie said we could go. The catch is you have to take a volunteer/missionary up with you. We decided to just do the whole tour, it was amazing, I am not telling anything but you should all go! The tour ended and it was time for us to head North, we dropped of Natalie and hit the road Northward!
We spent the rest of our day off playing in Weston... I love Weston. We picked Jessie up and took her with us for a day of good food and good family time. Enjoy the pictures below... To Floss or Not?

I assume you are reading this and thinking what and odd question... Let me tell you why it really isn't and odd question. Last night after dinner I was flossing my teeth, just like I do almost every night, well last night as I finished not only did the floss leave my mouth but one of my fillings did also! At first it was more of a shock than pain so I figured it is okay "I'll call a dentist Monday" I told myself. This morning I woke up and within about an hour I knew waiting was not really going to be an option. So I called my Mom to see what to do, you see Mark and I haven't seen a dentist since we were both single and on different insurance plans so I was stumped at who to see. Well my Mom does have the answer to everything including this dilemma. Her cousin, Brandon Schvaneveldt, just bought a dental practice in Logan so she suggested I call him after checking with my insurance company. After confusing a insurance worker by trying to find a Schvaneveldt, he finally found a "Schvandevelt" (as he pronounded it) I figured that was him since no one but family members can pronounce the name as we do. With a quick call into his office I was set up for an appointment today. Now I sit on my couch with a half numb face wondering if it was really worth flossing last night or not.....
back to my original question do I floss or not?

What was I thinking???

No secret Halloween is quickly coming upon us, this also means the time for completion of costumes is coming quickly. We are going to a party at our friends house and after much deliberation decided upon our costumes (stay tuned to find out what they are). Than I decided "hey I can sew them, how hard can it be? I have a sewing machine and I am related to my Mom and Grandma so its gotta be in my blood right?" I am now rethinking this whole thing, I currently have fabric covered in a pattern and I am totally confused at what to do next.

I have accomplished one piece of the puzzle, for our friends costume.

Oh well the time will come that it must be finished.... or I'll be freaking out and draping fabric over us for costumes!

This day will forever be an awesome day... WHY? Mark passed his FAA test and is now a multi-engine rated pilot!!! I can't believe how quickly he is moving along in his schooling! I am very, very proud of him and for how hard he is working so he can complete things before we get hit by another Cache Valley Winter and the lovely inversions that come (bad weather for flying)

The weather man kept telling us we'd have snow Saturday and Sunday, but me being hard headed didn't by into his story. Well I should have because sure enough there was white stuff, or snow yuck!, falling from the sky when we woke up. Had we not been headed to Weston for a fun weekend with the family this probably would have forced me back into bed to think about if I really wanted to face it or not. We took Jessie with us to Weston, I love my sister! Mark dropped us off for our dear friend/sister (more like sister) Becki's baby shower for her new baby boy Hogan. It was so great to see that part of our "family" again! We spent the evening hanging at the house and eating Mom's sloppy Joes (YUM) Than finished it off watching SNOWBALL EXPRESS a Disney movie from the 70's that is now on my top movie list. I guess it was appropriate to wach cause it WAS snowing outside.

We awoke to a peaceful morning in Weston to more snow (I think nature forgot its the beginning of Oct) Mark tried to make Jessie feel better by saying it was just powdered sugar that I had spilled, it didn't work. We all bundled up and headed to Weston for Hogan's blessing and than rushed to Dayton to the Families ward so they could fulfill their responsibilities there. We ended up visiting Grandma Nash in the library, this actually a tradition we always visit her during Sunday School. Our cousin Cole was receiving the priesthood in Preston so when Grandma said she wanted to be there we (Mike, Jessie, Mark & I) volunteered to watch the library. We aren't very good librarians, and Jessie wouldn't even sing the madam librarian song to me :( After church we to Mumfords for a family dinner (I love family dinners) Mark and I than rushed to Logan so we could spend time with the Hendricks family too. We had an amazing dinner and Grandma and Granddad's and enjoyed our time playing with cousins and their kids. When we left the snow was still falling, I had to document it with pictures. I had to make the snow man to show that we really did have lots of snow!


Nothing to Exciting on Monday or Tuesday, that I can think of anyway.... Mark might remember something but I can't.

(Today) I traveled to Salt Lake to visit my dear friend Natalie. We went to the Salt Lake temple, I kind of feel liking singing I Love to See the Temple & Nearer my God to Thee, just thinking about the wonderful day at the temple. Natalie suggested we go see the Statue of Christ after, what an amazing thing. Next time you are at temple square take a moment and go up and look at Christ. He is looking down watching over us and Natalie put it well "we have to look up to him" I just love the gospel!! We decided to go put our church clothes in the car than go see the Joseph Smith movie, well we sort of misplaced our car so after 20 minutes we decided we were to hungry to go the movie today, but we did find our car:). We are 2 grown woman so we decided we could find our way to Target and get something along the way, not really true, we ended up way lost (multiple times) but thanks to Mom H and her google map skills she found our way for us and gave us directions via cell phones. We finally had lunch/dinner and than a quick trip to Target and Deseret Book and we headed to Natalies house. It was a great day!! I love my Wendsday's with Natalie, sadly today was the end as she is starting a new job on Monday so we are gonna have to switch our US days to a different day of the week, oh well atleast we can do that and not have to stop them.

I do have to say I did make it out of Salt Lake and back to my house with out getting lost once, suprising I know!! Thanks to all of you who helped us when we were lost today! Thanks to my hubby for letting me take the car and go down south, you rock babe!!
Mark also says Monday & Tuesday were boring :)

~What a girl needs~

Yesterday I got to spend the day with Natalie and Candice. We drove to Salt Lake yesterday morning and picked up Natalie. We than went to the temple, what a wonderful feeling to be in the temple with some of your closes friends. After the temple we hurried to the car so we could make our hair/nail appointments at Cameo Cosmetology College. We stuffed our faces with KFC chicken as we got more and more lost trying to find our destination.

Eventually we did find our way....really could have used a tom-tom yesterday. Luckily,Natalie and Candice have both lived there before so they kept me on track or I'm sure I'd still be driving around lost and getting low of fuel. Natalie and I both got new hair colors and cuts, all 3 of us got our nails done and makeup. Over all it was fun day at the salon, though a little long. We decided that we aren't girlie enough to spend that long in a salon but it was still fun.

We ended our night with dinner and Olive Garden and a shopping trip to the mall. We all actually found clothes we liked and that fit in the same store!! I love my adventures with these girls! Can't wait till next time :)

I spent yesterday finishing up project that I undertook this past week, Thanks Lisa for helping me so I didn't totally screw them up. We felt that we wanted to be able to have Michael still be in our lives upon this earth so we will proudly display this in our home till we get to meet him again.

Lots of my friends have been joining the 4th folder 4th picture club...I thought why not. so here you have it...
This picture was taken August 2006, by my wonderful hubby. These are my roommates from that year. Meredith, Kristin, Amy and Me. We decided we needed roommate pictures for our apartment and we spent FOREVER at the temple taking them the first Sunday we were all at our apartment. You could say this was the day Mark stole my heart, cause he did! I'm actually not a huge fan of this picture but rules are rules
