much thought & consideration
When our car was purchased we had a very hard time coming up with a name (all important things should have a name), after much consideration & thought not to mention driving of our new (awesome) car we have decided upon...

Saturday we headed over the mountain to Bear Lake to meet my family for a fun day in the sun. It was so great! One thing about my family is there is never a dull moment and I love it! My Uncle Jason brought up his boat and let everyone who wanted take a turn behind it, Mark learned to wakeboard he did very well for his second time ever. We had fun eating, playing in the sand, eating, getting sunburned, and watching a mud fight happen. I couldn't get involved I had to document it! After our fun/exhausting day a the beach we stopped by La Beau's for a fresh raspberry shake before heading back, it was WONDERFUL! We must report we are loving our new car, it handled the canyon awesome even with the ac on max! Now gotta name it....
Sunday after the temple dedication we joined Mark's family at Aunt Laurie & Uncle Bryce's for BLT's, fresh corn & some good conversation. I made an amazing discovery at the lunch, I don't hate all tomatoes, I really enjoy Roma tomatoes. Who knew? Not me! After eating way to much food we headed over the canyon to Matthew & Kristin's to watch Axton while they attended the temple dedication. It was a very good time, especially after I got him to take a nap. There is nothing as wonderful as his little laugh. We made some wonderful Kabobs (Matthew I can spell it now) with fresh zucchini from their garden, steak and potatoes. So yummy! We finished off the evening with Zucchini cake & grilled pineapple topped with vanilla ice cream. A very unhealthy way to end the day but oh so good!
Today started the week of firsts for us, Mark had his first day of one of his new jobs. He began training at the boys home today, he seemed to really enjoy it. Tomorrow he starts his training for his flight instructing! How blessed we are!

Well it's official....
After much a soul searching, budgeting, prayers and talking with our parents we have decided to make a major change to our little family, a change that could make Mark's new job (& income) very, very important.
Now we are at a point where we can share this exciting moment with all of you and we can also ask for you input on names....keep in mind we don't like names that are hard to remember...
Sadly Cletus the cavalier is not going be driven anymore, he will be parked in Weston till Alaina is ready for college and at that time we will hand him off to her. Cletus has been a good companion these last years, many a good road trip has happened with Cletus. However due to a few technical difficulties (speedometer, window, backseat falling off) we needed to up grade. Cletus you will forever have a special place in our heart! Alaina you better take care of Cletus!

This past weekend we decided to rent the new Wii Sports Resort game, we also decided just the two of us playing would not be nearly as fun and having friends join us, plus what kind of celebration of Mark's job would it have been for us to spend the weekend home alone...a boring one! Friday night our friends Jordan & Kim came over to play and celebrate with us. Of course when we made plans to hangout we didn't have a reason to celebrate but once the job was offered and accepted we did! Jordan & Kim were friends from the first ward we attended as a married couple, when we moved to we lost touch but recently "found" each other again, and also found out they are going to be having a little girl in November/December. We are so excited to have found our friends again! Saturday Matthew, Kristin & Axton called to see if we were up for visitors....silly question we always love visitors. They made the drive through the canyon and we "escaped" from our house for a mini-celebration at Chili's. Good friends, good food, good times. After eating, way to much food, we headed back to play some wii (we may be nintendo nerds) Axton was totally hypnotised by the game, it was really cute.
Warning if you don't want to see a whole picture collage of Axton you had better stop scrolling down, he was just so cute Saturday night I couldn't help but snap lots of pictures. Thanks cousins for letting us spoil your child!
oh and the verdict on wii sports resort is a winner, we really have enjoyed playing it. It is much more of a work out than the other sport games, not like break a sweat or anything but you do more than move your wrist. The only downer you have to have a special motion accessory to capture all your movements and only one was included in the rental. In time we will probably add this game to our collections.

The path has become clear
For months, well since May, we have been trying to figure out what path the Lord has for us. With Mark graduating we had lots of unanswered questions about where life was going to lead us. Well after much searching, praying (thanks for those who kept us in their prayers), many phone calls to companies all over the country.....Mark has found a home as a flight instructor! He'll being a flight instructor for the Flying Aggies! I am so proud of him, this is the job he wanted all along & he got it!! We get to stay here!

weekends off bring such joy!
This weekend was our long weekend off from our house job so we decided to make the most of it. We started our fun Friday afternoon by going to the Cache County Fair! I don't really know why I like to go to fairs, I am not a big animal or crowd person but for some reason I just find them interesting. It may be the crazy things people sell, the good food, or the crazy people who seem to appear at them...but probably a combination. We wandered around for about an hour, Mark bought me some really cute earrings and he even shared some cotton candy with me. Imt was wonderful!
After the fair we headed over to Brigham to visit Matthew, Kristin & Axton. As you may remember from previous posts the four of us like to try new cooking adventures together, this get together deserved something new also....what you may ask? Well Matthew got a smoker (for food) for his Birthday so he figured we should try it out. We discovered a few things, 1) we should have read the instruction before starting the chicken 2) when smoking something you should have an appetizer ready 3) it can take longer than expected. You can either see not knowing these things in advance as a terrible thing and let it ruin your evening or just go with the flow. The dinner was amazing, but the journey of completing it was even more amazing! We had so much fun just laughing, mostly at Axton & his personality, catching up on life and going for a pre-dinner walk that I would probably be okay if we repeated the night the exact same way again.
Saturday Mark had to work so I spent the morning cleaning our apartment & car. Yes I did accomplish both of them in a about 2 hours, really the only nice things about a small apartment is you can clean it really fast. When he got off work we packed up the car & headed south to Cougar land to visit James & Emily. The 4 of us have been trying to get together for about the last month with no sucess so we just decided it was time & invaded their house this weekend. Friday evening I got an email from Em asking me if I was up for trying to make new a new treat cake balls, for full details of this visit the following link James & Emily.
Our friends Natalie & Nichole had a Birthday party in Sandy that evening we headed back up the freeway, since Emily was singing at Gloria's Little Italy. The party was held by their empolyeer at Bouncing Off the Walls. It was so much fun to act like little kids, bouncing on blow up toys and sliding down huge slides. Even if we have a few bruises and cuts today. The party was great, cause well it was a party but also for a few more reasons. 1) we got to see Nichole & Jeff before they move to Texas 2) got to meet Natalies boyfriend, and we like him 3) we got see Natalie (if you didn't know we are very close to her but don't get to see her much.)
After the party we headed back to Prove to stay the night with James & Emily. We arrived later than planned, but thanks to eating a few chocolate cake balls we were able to stay awake talking & laughing much later than we should have. It's weekends like this that make me really, really hope for a job in the state of Utah. This morning Mark made us a very yummy breakfast of buttermilk waffles, and James made amazing hashbrowns to go with it. Church wasn't till 1 so after starting a roast in the crockpot we took turns getting ready for the day & watching planet earth. I am totally addicted to those DVD's now, I can't wait to have a little extra cash to buy them! It was great to be able to attend church today, missing it last week really well sucked! Emily's roast turned out so tender & yummy, James seasoned it to perfection! To top it off Mark made us his yummy gravy to go with it. I contributed by taking pictures, not really helpful but they are great for the memories. After eating, way to much food, we had to head back to Logan so Mark could go to rehearsal for the American Festival Chorus. When loading the car we discovered something, well not so great. We left some crayons in the backseat of the car, I really didn't think anything of it with the temp. only being in the 70's. Story short, I should have...melted crayon & two ruined jackets later I am totally kicking myself. I'm glad I have an understanding husband for when I have "brain-lapses." Thanks James & Em for a wonderful weekend!

Girls Weekend
A couple of weeks ago my friend Melissa asked if I wanted to go to Vegas for a weekend with her & our friend Becky, my response was yeah let me clear it with Mark. Once we had the house schedule covered it was official I was going on a girl weekend getaway. We left Thursday afternoon, drove to mesquite & spent the night. Friday we finished our drive to Vegas! We arrived in the heat of the day and checked into our hotel Golden Nugget. We got suckered into a promotional tour that afternoon, which kind of sucked but not completely because out of it we got tickets to the Bodies exhibit at the Luxor and tickets to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur for $36 a piece! It was awesome! Friday night we had dinner at the Rio world buffet. After that Melissa took us to the casino floor so we could see the sky parade, it was pretty cool. During the planning of our trip Melissa kept saying she wanted to go to a nightclub while we were there, okay so those of you who know me know I have issues with people I don't touching me so I wasn't so upon this idea or paying $20 buck to be shoved around by strangers. We ended up getting free tickets to club Vodoo free from some chic. So we decided what the hey, not only was it a club (which made Melissa happy) it was on the 50 & 51 floor of Rio casino (on the roof!)
Saturday we decided to spend sometime in the awesome pool! It has a giant aquarium in the middle & the waterslide goes right through it. Once the heat really started to hit, at like 1130, we headed inside to get ready for the day. We spent time sight seeing on Freemont street, did some outlet shopping than headed to the strip to see the Bodies Exhibit & Tournament of Kings. The Bodies exhibit was pretty cool, kind of felt like I was in a giant quiz for work but other than that I enjoyed it. We had a little time before the show so we headed to M&M world and the Cola~Cola building. M & M world is great, so much chocolate and who doesn't love coke!! The tournament of kings was AMAZING!!! Didn't really get great pictures but I tried. After the show Melissa & I decided we were cool enough to wear crowns just like all the other girls we had been seeing so we bought some with a reinissance flare! We spent time seeing the strip at night, always an experience for more reason than one.
Sunday we slept in, checked out of our hotel & headed to see the Bellagio fountain show. It was pretty great, even if it was a flash back to junior high with the song My Heart Will Go On. We decided we should probably see the Welcome to Vegas sign, so we headed there on our way out of town. Followed by what was suppose to be a quick trip to In-N-Out burger, didn't end up so quick 25 minutes after pulling into line for the drive-through we hit the road north. When we finally arrived home at 11 I was so glad to see Mark. I had fun with my girlfriends, but corny or not I missed Mark!
