Rodeo Weekend

Saturday night we took Alaina to her first Rodeo, That Famous Preston Night Rodeo! It was a fantastic Rodeo this year. Before the Rodeo we went and watched the really LLLOONNNGGG parade. Noah actually enjoyed it, when the first piece of candy was thrown at us he looked at it with huge eyes and said "woooo." He enjoyed picking them up and really enjoyed eating them and saying "mmmmm." He is starting to say lots of things, but this post isn't about that.

You brought how many people??!?!

Saturday we were sitting outside talking with my great-aunt & great-uncle visiting from Arizona when we saw a bus coming down the road, an interesting sight on a Saturday afternoon at my parents house. Well that bus pulled right into their yard! It was quiet a sight, kids & adults were crammed into that bus so tight, it was like a clown act at the circus watching how may people were coming out. We were told there were 140-150 people with them. It was such a sight we had to take pictures!

Mini family vacation

Wednesday we made the long drive to Rexburg so we could go through the temple with my dear friend Heather. It was a wonderful experience & I am so glad we were able to be there with her & her fiancee. We stayed the night up there, we didn't want to drive until 1am (crazy we wouldn't want to do that)

The next day we stopped at Downata on the way home. Noah loved the splash pad! My cousin and her kids were also there, a unplanned & very fun coincidence, so we got to spend the day with them also. I learned a few things about my self that day. 1~ I might not look great in my swimming suit but at least nothing was hanging that should have been tucked away. 2~ I am not 18 anymore and the blackhole is a tougher ride that it looks, I am still sore 3 days later! 3~ I don't want to be the Mom who sits on the side reading a magazine I love being in the water with my kid. Okay I think that's all I learned, enjoy some pictures!

Better late than never

Almost 5 years ago my roommate and I invited our friend Matthew & his cute cousin Mark who had just moved to town on a night hike but backed out on them to go to a demolition derby with some other friends. Plus I had decided this new city boy although cute was kind of a dork because he chose to hang out with his Grandparents instead of coming and playing games with some cute college girls. Now I know the truth his grandparents are awesome & he was just shy, but that's another story. Well last night we finally had our night hike together, we didn't really set out with intention of a night hike but after misunderstanding some directions & me getting off work later than planned that's how it happened.

We hiked up the Old Temple Sawmill Trail, it was really a great & nice hike when we didn't feel like a super hard hiking (Thanks for the info Laurie). It was also really beautiful!

The moon came up just as we were finishing our hike & it was a gorgeous night, even if we both tripped a few times. Don't worry neither of us got hurt :

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOAH!

I can't believe that 1 year ago Noah joined our family! We have 3 friends who also had babies this time last year, it's been fun watching the 4 kids grow & develop. Since the time they were born we've talked about having a 1st Birthday party for them all together so last night we did just that. We had yummy food & enjoyed watching the kids with cake.
