Santa

Noah's preschool had a Christmas party and siblings/parents were invited during the Santa portion. We couldn't resist taking Lily so he could show his friends his new baby and so she could get a picture with Santa, every kids needs a first Christmas Santa photo. A small class, controlled environment and not knowing anyone well enough they'd ask to hold her we were safe and it worked like we planned.
Noah loves Santa and we thought he was going to burst waiting for his turn to talk with him. He kept looking over the stockings waiting to see him name. He added a few items to his Christmas list but hopefully remembers our discussions that Santa can't bring us everything we ask for no matter how good we are. Santa is tired and not up for additional shopping.
Huge shout out to Mark for going and volunteering at the Christmas party, amongst all the mothers he really is an amazing husband & dad.

Welcome

Our family grew to 4 on Friday 12/12!

If you don't want to hear the story skip ahead to the pictures, I just want to document it somewhere...I never did with Noah and I feel bad about that.
Mark was suppose to be gone until Saturday evening but I had been telling him all week he needed to come home by Friday I just had a feeling. I had seen my OB on Monday and was dilated to a 4, I knew Mark was gone all week so beyond finishing up my last days at work I didn't do much but sit around watching movies or playing games with Noah. If I did more my contractions would start more regularly than I was comfortable with when my spouse was who knows how far away. Thursday they got more intense and I ended up back at the Dr that afternoon, thanks to my sister informing him of what was going on and him telling me to come down. It was my last scheduled day of work until my maternity leave is over so I told everyone goodbye a few hours early and was off to the Dr. I had progressed to a 5 but contractions weren't regular and Mark was still gone so I went home, Noah and I waited for Mark to get home watching paw patrol and eating fast food because I wasn't cooking. Mark arrived home late, I believe about midnight. At this point my stubborness in holding off baby girl went away and Friday I woke up having pains, which I assumed were contractions (I never had them with Noah I was induced).
I walked Noah to school, side note odd that it was warm enough to walk to school in a jacket at 9:30 am. I figured keep moving and  trying to have a baby was a good option. While Noah was a school Mark & I took the car to get a new battery, why wouldn't the battery on our car die the day before we have a baby. I wandered walmart while he figured out the battery situation. After about an hour of wandering walmart I called him and informed him I was done walking Walmart. We headed home in time to walk down and get Noah from school. We called Mom H letting her know that we were gonna feed Noah some lunch than head to the hospital when he & Mark were done eating.
Noah was excited to go spend time with his grandparents and that sister was coming.

We checked into the hospital about 2pm. I got all hooked up to monitors and they called my Dr. He reviewed my contractions and I was admitted. Even after all that walking I was still only a 5, ggrr! We hung out and waited for the anesthesiologist to come, yep I am one of those who happily had them numb me up. Our anesthesiologist was great, he was neighbors with my boss and he and mark started talkin planes so we had fun chatting while we waited to see if it worked. After the epidural things didn't move any faster, I had hopes it would speed things up. After 4 hours I was finally a 6. Sadly my awesome nurse was off at 6pm, she & I tried willing baby to come quickly but she didn't agree. I was checked and told I was ready about 6:45. My Dr. showed up and we had a baby at 7:09. Only pushing for 6 minutes was much nicer than the 2+ hours with Noah.

I have the best OB doctor anyone could wish for!

My parents came to meet our sweet baby girl shortly after she was delivered, I failed to get a picture of my dad but he really did come.

Sorry mom you have a weird expression it's just the only picture I got!

It actually took us until Saturday afternoon to name our this sweet girl. We had a list on the whiteboard in our room that we would study and cross of names, it came down to 2 names. After staring at her than the board we finally decided she was our Lilian, we mostly call her Lily.

We also had visits from my sister, my friend Sylvia and our friends Jordan & April who happened to be in town visiting. I failed to get pictures of these visitors.

We didn't get released until Sunday afternoon, my bold pressure went high after delivery and I had to be monitored. So we hung out watching silly TV and loving our little girl
 Lots of dark hair

 All ready to go home
It took us until Sunday but we remembered to get a picture of us 3.

Sunday evening Noah finally got to meet his sister. Due to a bad influenza season no kids are allowed to visit the hospital. Luckily he has awesome grandparents who kept him busy and entertained. He was thrilled to meet, hug and kiss her.

Noah picked out this elephant for Lily and couldn't wait to give it to her, it plays music. When we went to the store to get a gift he knew exactly what he wanted and lead me through the store to the correct kiosk to get it. I have no idea when he saw it and picked it out but he had in the past and it's what she needed.
Noah brought Mickey to meet sister also, this is a big deal if you know this kid and Mickey.
Don't mind the headband changes, Noah kept going and getting new headbands for her to wear.

Sharing George and his bulldozer, to bad when she is old enough to want them he'll probably freak out when she touches them.
Survived her first bath at home, she cried during this one but since has gotten so she is completely relaxed especially when we wash her head

Goodnight from these siblings, you can't see if but they both have George (monkey) jammies on. Noah picked them out for the night
He is adjusting pretty well to sister being home, only had a few moments which we figure is pretty good for a 4 year old.
