Marks birthday weekend

Marks Birthday is tomorrow and due to work schedules we have been celebrating this weekend.

Saturday we went out for Indian food, we crashed Valentine's Day and celebrated birthday with our kids instead. Most people didn't seem to mind, one lady gave us a dirty look but whatever.

Sunday we had dinner with granddad, grandma, aunt Marianne and mom h. 

Grandmas birthday is the day after Marks so we all had cake together 

How do you eat chocolate cake? 

What you mean not like Noah?!? He was bouncing around for hours waiting for this cake to be cut.

Today we went to Herms for a brunch that after the almost hour wait was actually lunch. We enjoyed the strange February weather and went for a walk while waiting for our table. 

As always germs was well worth the wait. Noah went for breakfast, French toast and he even ordered seconds

We spent time running errands than went out to visit Eliza and Amelia, they ask daily for uncle Mark and today it worked out for a visit. We walked to the park Lily enjoyed it until the wind started so we went back inside with Jessie and the guys took the older kids to the park. 

We are ending our celebration with left over chocolate cake and a movie after Noah is in bed. Happy Birthday Mark! We are very blessed you are in our lives. 

2 months

Lily was 2 months old on Thursday. She had her checkup on Friday, she was a champ for shots. The first one she just looked ticked, the second one she let us know how she really felt. She calmed down quickly hopefully she stays tough as she grows.

All of her measurements have gone up 16-20% since her last visit. With how much she has grown in such a short time her doctor thinks my postpartum preeclampsia effected her in utero. Since there was no indication until after delivery and my pregnancy had gone so well (relatively) checking her wasn't warranted or medically advised. It never occurred to me how this would effect the baby, even pack when I had it with Noah before delivery I had no idea. So blessed both our kids are healthy even though my body apparently hates pregnancy. 

This is her "comparison" animal to see how she grows. It's super soft, she grabbed it on her own to cuddle his arm.

She is great at holding her head up if she is sitting, working on the above during tummy time but she usually just goes to sleep. Everyone else in the family prefers to sleep on their tummy so we shouldn't be surprised by this. 

These two still love each other and melt their parents hearts. He spoils her, has never resented her just stepped right into big brother roll, she adores him. If she's sad seeing him makes her happy, she tries really hard to laugh at him and before to long I imagine she will be.

Airplanes

Last week we decided we should go on a family "adventure" we gave Noah a few options and he picked to go see the airplanes. We loaded up and headed down the museum and hill air force base. Noah and Mark were in heaven, I think it's fun to look at planes & learn facts but those two could spend way more time than me looking at and discussing them. Noah has also decided he wants to be a soldier when he grows up. 

Noah has very specific ideas about aviation; planes and jets are not the same.....

I think Mark needs to work on straightening out what he thinks, in a few years when he is less stubborn and understands more :)

Skiing

Noah was able to get a ski pass with Grandpa Rob this year and he went for the first time on Saturday. Mark was in town to go with him, also Aunt Karen, Uncle Mike and Aunt Alaina joined in the fun. He had so much fun, they all said he was a natural. He can't wait to go again, hopefully the rain falling outside is putting some snow in the mountains so he can go again before next year.

 Sometimes you fall down but apparently Noah just got back up and kept going. I am proud of this kid, he got his skiing skills from his Dads side.

He got so comfortable they even went down "the big mountain" as Noah called it. It wasn't the big mountain but he got to ride the ski lift and was bigger than the bunny hill, he would just hold grandpas hand and go down. 

In the afternoon Jessie and I took the girl up to get Noah. He wanted to show us what he learned, he was so confident it was pretty neat to see. The last video Mark took of the day is below

Our photographer was in town last week so we had her snap some pictures of Lily in her blessing dress. Both her dress and her little booties were made by my Grandma S. It is so special to me that she was able to wear something made just for her by her great grandma, I can't wait till she is old enough to under how special it truly is. I can't decide which pictures I like the best so you'll have to scroll through lots of them or just close the post because there are lots of pictures and no more words :)
